Catherine & Ray - The Cosenors House Abingdon Oxfordshire 16 July 2011

Cat and Ray’s special day was like a game of two halves, the contrast was unbelievable mainly due to the English summer! I arrived at Cat’s parents with sheet rain lashing down and it looked unlikely that we would get any sun. Cat’s arrival at the church was brilliant is a classic Morris Minor and a powerful emotional entrance to a packed church for the ceremony. With many guests and family having travelled from Mauritius and the Philippines there was always going to be a plethora of happy snappers. Suffice to say come the exit to the great outdoors it was akin to a rugby scrum as I fought to obtain a good view to photograph the newlyweds ! Suddenly a  break in the weather appeared and I quickly organised the family shots prior to heading to the reception venue.

The Cosenor’s House is a lovely venue overlooking the Thames with magnificent grounds, a stream and ruins making this ideal for diverse wedding photography. I grabbed the bride and groom and whisked them away for a breather and we managed some quiet and dramatic photography before the dining began. With the mood uptempo the guests entered and enjoyed excellent cuisine prior to speeches with both tears and cheers. I drove away with clear blue skies and a big smile...
