The Big Chill Featuring Rudi Part 2

Just had a lovely week away on a boy’s holiday...that's me and my 4 year old! Not always easy to get away during March to November as wedding season but we made the most of the winter break. Sharm El Sheikh is ideal in January with deep blue skies and warm weather and of course a beach.. Rudi has been a few times and he met some lovely little friends. He loves the place -  that’s two of us then!

Victoria & Tim - Liston Court & The Compleat Angler Marlow 30 December 2011

My final wedding of 2011 and its been quite a year. So lovely to finish off in my home town of Marlow and at such a beautiful setting as the famous Compleat Angler Hotel. To be honest the weather was not looking good as I arrived for the civil ceremony at Liston Court nearby but with a beautiful room set up all we needed was a bride ! Tim and the guests were in a great mood and ready to go. Soon Victoria arrived looking stunning and the scene was set. We exited onto the terrace overlooking the park for confetti and whilst the guests slipped away the newlyweds and I grabbed ten minutes for the all important private shots. With heavy rain now falling the reception was in full flow at the Hotel but we still had a very important moment to capture. As the weather cleared briefly we raced up onto the bridge and I managed to stop the traffic for long enough to allow Victoria & Tim a moment of glory ( or maybe madness as I was nearly run over!) With relief we headed back all in one piece!
The remainder of the day had a lovely laid back feel with plenty of time, laughter, crazy children, funny adults and all the very best that can be expected from a winter wedding. Finally it was time for cake cutting and a first dance that clearly entertained the little ones!

Melanie & Vincenzo - Our Lady Of Dolours Church Hendon & Theobalds Park Cheshunt 29 December 2011

The season for festivities and good cheer so especially good for a hearty winter wedding ! This was definitely the case for Melanie and Vinnie on a cloudy and blustery day that just had a great mixture of fun, good times, emotional and dramatic locations.... And some rain too. Plenty of activity at Mel’s place for the bridal preparation so just really “fly on the wall” photography. I arrived at the church with good time and virtually had the place to myself. Soon the guests arrived and you could feel the atmosphere change quickly plus a couple of giggly bridesmaids! Mel made her arrival and I was able to capture the entrance with swirling wind and laughter. But I love the shot of the bride just awaiting to walk down the aisle, you can feel all that emotion...

Suffice to say a classically beautiful ceremony with wonderful congratulations after. After the short drive to Theobald’s Park we made the most of the outside prior to heavy rain but with a great crowd the tempo was upbeat and this made for a super drinks reception prior to the wedding breakfast. Naturally with Vinnie being a native of Italy there was the obligatory shouts of bacio, bacio on a constant basis!. All too soon it was time for a swift first dance to get the party started. in particular
